FUMA RYU NINJUTSU KAMAE
Stances are the basis of all martial arts, they are the beginning and end of all techniques. This section of our website will list some of the series of stance kata practiced within the BFNS and provide some pictorial reference for those interested in our training.
KIHON FUMA NO KAMAE
The Kihon Fuma No Kamae (Basic Wind Demon Stances) is a kata that demonstrates some common fighting positions used within the ryu. It is the first series of stances shown to students to allow them to get comfortable with forming fighting postures and to begin conditioning the legs to hold the body weight and get use to moving from set positions.
This kata is usually performed at the start of lessons to ensure all students can form these positions and as the final part of the dojo warm-up.
Shizen No Kamae is a relaxed natural position that is used to start and finish the Kihon Fuma No Kamae
